Why?
Normalizing error works because getting problems wrong is a part of the learning process. When you do not spend time on emphasizing that a student got a problem incorrect you make getting an answer wrong just as normal as getting an answer right. This will allow students to feel more comfortable to answer a question because they will not be worried about getting the answer wrong and embarrassing themselves.
